Meet Jordyn
Birth work is
my calling
Hi, I’m Jordyn, a DONA trained doula serving families across the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro. After experiencing birth myself, I became passionate about one simple truth: God designed women’s bodies for this. Birth isn’t something to simply survive, it’s something you were created for. My mission is to make sure every woman feels safe, informed, and genuinely supported as she walks through one of the most transformative experiences of her life.
My approach is rooted in careful listening, evidence-based support, and unhurried presence. Whether you’re planning a home birth, a hospital birth, a medicated birth, a c-section, or something in between, I’m here to walk alongside you, never ahead of you. I help you understand your options, advocate for your preferences, and find calm when things feel overwhelming. Your birth, your choices, your story. I’m just honored to be part of it.
Outside of birth work, I love spending time with my husband and 4 children (yes, the ones that originally made me fall in love with the process of birth) plus a bonus foster child right now. I enjoy walks with friends, gardening, making all the sourdough things, audiobooks, trying new restaurants and going on adventures with my kids.

The Journey
What to expect
Working together is simple and personal. Here’s how our relationship unfolds from the very first hello.
Free Discovery Call
A relaxed 30-minute phone call where we get to know each other. I’ll ask about your hopes for birth, you can ask me anything, and we’ll both know pretty quickly if it’s a good fit. Zero pressure.
Prenatal Visits
We meet one-on-one to talk through your birth preferences, practice comfort measures like breathing and positioning, and create a plan that actually reflects what matters to you. Your partner is encouraged to be there.
On-Call & Labor
Starting at 38 weeks, I’m a phone call away, day or night. When labor begins, I come to you. I stay by your side through every contraction, shift change, and decision until 1–2 hours after your baby is here.
Postpartum Care
Within the first week or two, I’ll visit you at home to check in on how you’re really doing, physically and emotionally. We’ll talk through feeding, sleep, recovery, and anything else on your mind.
I started this work because I have a core belief that God designed women’s bodies to give birth. You were made for this.

Common Questions
Let’s clear things up
A doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after birth. I’m not a medical provider, I’m your dedicated support person. Think of me as your calm, knowledgeable companion who helps you feel confident and cared for. I offer comfort techniques, help you understand your options, and support your partner too.
A doula is not a medical professional and does not perform clinical tasks. I don’t check blood pressure, monitor the baby’s heart rate, perform cervical checks, deliver babies, or make medical decisions on your behalf. I also don’t speak to your care team for you, instead, I help you feel informed and confident so you can advocate for yourself. Think of me as your support person, not a replacement for your doctor or midwife.
Absolutely not! I love working alongside partners. I help them feel confident and involved by suggesting ways they can comfort you and giving them the support they need to be fully present. Most partners say having a doula made them feel more connected to the birth, not less.
Not at all. I support you in whatever birth feels right for you, whether that’s unmedicated, with an epidural, or a planned cesarean. There is no one “right” way to give birth. My job is to make sure you feel informed about your choices and supported no matter what path your birth takes.
Absolutely! Having an epidural doesn’t mean you don’t need support, it actually changes the kind of support that’s most helpful. I can assist with positioning to help labor progress, keep you comfortable and calm, provide emotional reassurance, help with pushing techniques, and support your partner through the process. Many of my clients plan for epidurals, and I’m fully there for them every step of the way.
Most families reach out during the second trimester, but I’m happy to connect at any point. The earlier we start, the more time we have to build a relationship and prepare together, but it’s never too late. Even in your third trimester, I’d love to hear from you.
Yes! I understand that growing a family comes with a lot of expenses. I believe doula care should be accessible and I never want cost to be the reason someone goes without support. I’d be happy to chat about flexible terms if this is a factor.
Some insurance plans and many HSA/FSA accounts do cover doula services. I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I recommend calling your provider to ask about your specific coverage before we get started.
I’m prepared for both! Fast labors are one of the biggest reasons to have a doula. I can be a calm, familiar presence when everything is moving quickly. And for longer labors, I’m there for the long haul with no time limit. My fee covers your entire labor, whether it’s 4 hours or 24+.
A doula brings continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. Research shows that having a doula can lead to shorter labors, fewer interventions, higher satisfaction with the birth experience, and better emotional well-being for both the birthing person and their partner. Beyond the stats, a doula gives you someone fully focused on you, not charting, not switching shifts, just present.
Studies consistently show that continuous doula support is associated with lower cesarean rates, reduced use of pain medication, shorter labor duration, fewer instrumental deliveries (like vacuum or forceps), and higher Apgar scores for newborns. Families who use doulas also report feeling more positive about their birth experience overall and more confident in their early parenting.
Yes! Whether your c-section is planned or becomes necessary during labor, I can support you. Hospital policies vary, some allow a doula in the operating room alongside your partner, while others may have me waiting just outside. Either way, I’m there to help you prepare beforehand, provide comfort and reassurance, support your partner, and be with you in recovery to help with skin-to-skin, feeding, and those first precious moments with your baby.
